Today, Edgar Wallace (1875 - 1932) is mostly remembered for his role in the creation of King Kong. However, he was an extremely prolific writer, and is still on the list of the best selling fiction writers of all time. During the First World War, he entertained British readers with satirical first person narratives about a completely inept German agent called Heine. The following story was first published in Thomson's Weekly News, Dundee, Scotland, Feb 16, 1918.

The story is narrated by Michael Henrik Wynn, the editor of the educational net radio stream Historyradio.org.
