“Don’t miss this spellbinding tale of one man who saw what Batman was—and realized what he could become.”

Stan Lee

The Batman movie producer reveals how his childhood love of comic books became a lifelong passion and dream job in this memoir.

Is any superhero cooler than Batman? He’s a crime-fighting vigilante with a tragic past, a lawless attitude, and a seemingly endless supply of high-tech gadgetry. In this memoir, author Michael E. Uslan recalls his journey from early childhood fandom through to the decades he spent on a caped crusade of his own: to bring Batman to the silver screen as the dark, serious character he was at heart.

Uslan’s story traces his path from the wilds of New Jersey to the limelight of Hollywood, following his work as Executive Producer on every Batman film from Tim Burton’s 1989 re-envisioning to 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. Through it all, he helped to create one of the most successful pop culture franchises of all time.

The Customer Who Loved This Audiobook

This work of art, both written and read with expertise by Batman producer Michael Uslan, serves as a love-letter to comic book or superhero fanboys/girls...which I am certainly one of. The Boy Who Loved Batman serves as a witty, clever, time machine, drenched in nostalgia, a ride you will never forget. I don't believe in time travel, but as an avid sci-fi fan, I'm open to the possibilities. As soon as I read Uslan's description of hard, pink baseball card gum with white powder, I was ALL in. His fascinating, thoughtful, and outright hilarious history of comic books parallels his own growth overtime. He paints with such a tight brush; its as if he tied my own childhood into a bow and showed it to me. I could picture so much I'd forgotten about: bat-nipples, bullies and crushes, Swamp Thing...I've never been so entertained by an audiobook in my life! Listen to the first few minutes and you won't be able to resist. This is why the audiobook format was invented, and Uslan is the hero who deserve and need in these sometimes dark times.
