This complete version of A Christmas Carol is carefully crafted for the story's most avid readers using modern grammar and vocabulary. A Christmas Carol is one of Dickens’ best works, and in many ways, it has defined how Christmas is viewed and acted upon around the world. Christmas is a time for worship, family, friends, and love, and A Christmas Carol poignantly reminds and instructs us to express those things through charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence in honor of the sacred day.
However, as the English language evolves, this wonderfully instructive story is in danger of only being read as a school requirement by grudging students. That would be a sad loss for all readers. As an avid reader, teacher, and parent who simply loves this story, Jennifer George adapted this classic book for modern readers using 21st century English. The goal is to return this magical novella back into the entertaining and easily readable story it was when it was written nearly 200 years ago.
