In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead

Dave Robicheaux, the southern Louisiana cop on the perennial comeback, is dried out, back on the force, and remarried. But the fates, relentless as the man himself, converge with a vengeance on his newfound peace.

Their arrival is heralded by Elrod Sykes, a besotted Hollywood movie star with a penchant for self-destruction; "Baby Feet" Balboni, a Mafioso capo back in town to spread money and mayhem around; a 30-year-old corpse; a fresh corpse; and a long-dead Confederate cavalry officer who emerges out of the mist of the bayou with some prophetic warnings.
