It happened in Japan is a 1923 romantic drama following a group of Western diplomats stationed in Japan during the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th Century. Focused on the main character Pearl, the book gives a great description of how life for a Westerner was in Japan during the period.
The book mixes silly and melodramatic love themes with serious undertones and events. It is a diamond in the rough, available for the first time as an audiobook
