The age difference made it even better….
This book is another winner in this terrific series. The leading lady, Flick (Felicity) is strong and capable. She matches Demon, the leading man, in knowledge and love of horses. Demon loves Flick’s strengths and is forced to allow her to take the reins. He can’t control her. He learns to accept this. He doesn’t try and squelch her spirit. I loved him for that. The horse analogies were numerous but each on was on target. The decade age gap between Demon and Flick turned out to be a positive. Her unabashed enthusiasm for everything relit Demon’s fires. He was protective of her innocence wisely urging to savor each new experience and not rush to make things commonplace. The narration is superb. As I proceed through the books there are scenes with multiple Cynster males and it is difficult to distinguish their voices. In each book the Cynster male sounds similar. In group scenes the narrator is forced to make variations between the Cynster males that don’t ring totally true. That is a minor quibble.
