Emmy-nominated author and New York Times best-selling illustrator Peter Elwell crafts a bright and cheerful book about choosing your own path in life. Oscar the caterpillar lives in a flower pot in Cleveland. One day, a monarch butterfly floats by, headed for Mexico. Oscar learns that he will one day have wings too-but when that day comes, Oscar gets quite a surprise. ". its ebullient, optimistic tone [gives] the book strong appeal for children [and] some basic Spanish vocabulary is an added bonus."-School Library Journal
