    Not my favorite Lanyon

    I really like Lanyon's writing and his main characters. This one was kind of a miss for me. It was trying to be too many things at the same time: thriller, romance, comedy, travelogue. The different genres basically gave me whiplash. One minute someone is literally dying on the floor in a really upsetting scene, and the next minute there is a pun about cheeseburgers. It was okay (because Lanyon is a good writer and his characters always have distinct and interesting voices), but overall this story just didn't work for me.
