Jane Eyre

One of the greatest love stories ever written, Jane Eyre is the story of a young woman from the north of England which presents five distinct stages of her life: Jane’s childhood at the hands of her abusive aunt and cousins; her education, where she meets new friends but suffers from privations and oppression; her responsibilities as governess of Thornfield Hall, where she meets and falls in love with the powerful Mr. Rochester; her time with the Rivers family and a proposal from her cousin; and finally, her reunion and marriage with her beloved Mr. Rochester.    

Battling inside Jane are passions and prudence; she struggles to survive the turmoil they cause.
