“The detective-heroine of Ruby Redfort Look into My Eyes may be small for thirteen, but she's a prodigy: brilliant, tenacious and observant to an almost Sherlockian degree…As Ruby and her best friend, Clancy Crew (no relation to Nancy Drew, surely) dash about following hunches, they’re drawn into a whirl of comedy and menace, espionage and cryptograms, naive townspeople and baleful baddies…Ms. Child's appealing wiseacre tone keeps the mood buoyant throughout, even when it looks as if Ruby herself may be…toast.”
Wall Street Journal
Ruby Redfort’s not your average kid. She’s super-smart, always ice-cool, not to mention a gadget-laden secret agent with a talent for breaking codes. And she can keep her mouth shut…can’t she?
Ruby and her butler, Hitch, work for an undercover crime-busting organization, where break-ins, daring rescues, and life-OR-death situations are all in a day’s work. But always remember Rule #1:
You can never be completely sure what might happen next.
