Rob Roy

Rob Roy, first published in 1817, contains some of Sir Walter Scott's finest writing and most engaging, fully realized characters. It is set against the backdrop of the Jacobite Rebellion of 1715, which aimed to restore the Stuart monarchy. Rob Roy, the irrepressible Highland outlaw, is introduced to the listener through the adventures of a fictional hero, Frank Osbaldistone, amid the political turmoil of England and Scotland during that time.
