“[A] mysterious survival saga that passionate fans describe as a fusion of Lord of the Flies [and] The Hunger Games” (Entertainment Weekly)

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.

Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

Who would throw a bunch of kids into a seemingly unsolvable maze inhabited by killer robot slug monsters? I recommend you dive into this compelling first book in what I hope turns out to be an awesome trilogy to find out. While not quite as well written as "The Hunger Games" (the first one, not the sad excuse for a trilogy ender), the story is still compulsively readable...or listenable. Narrator Mark Deakins is a pretty solid reader. He does a particularly good job with the dialogue, sounding at ease with the strange slang Dashner has thrown into his dystopian universe. I can't wait to see the movie.
