It is the Black Dawn, a time of environmental apocalypse, the earth wracked and dying.

It is the Bright Day, a time long generations hence, when a peace has descended across the world.

In each era, a child shall be chosen. Their task is to find a dark messiah known only as the Crowman. But is he our saviour—or the final incarnation of evil?

“If you’re a horror fan and you’re not already reading Joseph D’Lacey you had better have a bloody good excuse.” —The Eloquent Page

    Overall Not for me

    Missed the mark with me

I came across this book when I did a search for books like The Stand. The excellent Song my Robert R. McCammon came up. A few others came up. This book was mentioned. I had hopes it would be in the vein of The Stand while not being exactly like The Stand. Well, it wasn’t like the stand at all. It was sort of like a fairy tale. It started, for me, on a high note, but slowly began to sink into the territory of not being interesting anymore. Again, these are my thoughts. I see a lot of 5 star reviews. That’s wonderful. I’m jealous that the story worked for those people, because it didn’t for me. There were moments spread about that I liked, but overall, this book wasn’t a positive experience for me.
