This riveting chapter from the popular fox-hunting mystery series of New York Times bestselling author Rita Mae Brown abounds with thrilling hunts and the breathtaking scenery of the Virginia countryside. But scandal wins the day.
“Sister” Jane Arnold, master of the Jefferson Hunt Club, must contend with unruly Crawford Howard, who purchases his own pack of hounds and establishes a rival club. Then, things really get interesting. During the audit of a local company, millions of dollars are reported missing. It’s not long before there’s a body count connected to the missing money—and the violence hits a little too close to home for Sister’s liking.
The hunt is on amongst Virginia’s gentility. And with Sister leading the way, big bank accounts and fine horsemanship will offer little protection for those with something to hide.
