    Short-form Wallace is the best-form Wallace

    While I am a big fan of DFW's magnum opus Infinite Jest, I really believe that he excels at, and is in fact at his best in the short form essay and non-fiction reporting. Consider the Lobster contains a few of his lesser known essays including topics such as the benign slice of summer life at the public pool to the randy yet distant journalist at the Adult Video Awards in Las Vegas. These essays are entertaining and informative. True-David Foster Wallace is not a professional narrator. His style is...let's say...Sahara dry. But, it IS fun to hear these topics coming from the horses mouth.
