Love this series!!!
The Inspector is a gem, smart and insightful with a dry sense of humour. Police work is much the same everywhere, including superiors who are more concerned with their own ambitions than with the men on the force or even justice. In these books, the government corruption is more overt than usually seen in some places, but no less pervasive. It's nice to have it in audio format to avoid the pronunciation dilemma, and the audio performer does a great job of being Inspector Montalbano. No spoilers here, just find your way to reading this fun and interesting tale!
