This is not the story of a hero. It is the story of a nobody.
André De Warr grew up in Worcester believing he was just an ordinary person whose life would pass largely unnoticed. But behind that ordinary life lay a journey marked by childhood hardship, anger, violence, fatherhood, devastating mistakes, prison, broken relationships, the loss of his children, depression and homelessness.
Yet his story did not end there.
Through friendship, adventure, education and a determination to keep moving forward, André began rebuilding his life. Returning to education in his forties, he went on to university, discovered new careers, explored the world and eventually found love and a home in Scotland.
The Troubles and Tribulations: In the Life of a Nobody is a deeply personal, novelised autobiography about mistakes, consequences, survival, redemption and change.
Narrated by André himself, this honest and sometimes uncomfortable account asks a simple question:
Can an ordinary nobody fall, get back up, and discover that his life mattered after all?
