"I sat at my desk.
I opened my laptop to work.
I tried to click on the email icon.
But my hands refused to move."
Marie had built her life on intelligence, achievement, self-reliance, and an ability to keep going no matter what. Until she couldn't. A few days later, stuck on a transatlantic flight, she burst out crying uncontrollably without knowing why. Then came a Voice that seemed to know her. Marie decides to follow this Voice to understand what is happening and to uncover a past buried in silence.
She searches for answers across countries, in therapies, spirituality, the subconscious, serendipitous encounters, and creativity, while continuing to launch businesses. But can she trust this Voice? What if what she needs to face overwhelms her?
She discovers that the fortress she built to survive the past has also disconnected her from love, intuition, creativity, connection, and purpose.
The Wave Broke Down My Fortress is a gripping, beautiful memoir about reconnecting with what has been silenced, aligning inner and outer lives, and living a fuller, more meaningful life.
