Ivy Bennett is counting the days until Christmas, one paper loop at a time. Her father has been away for eleven months, and although he has promised to try to come home, a winter storm is moving toward Hollow Creek.
When Ivy notices that her quiet neighbor is waiting for someone too, she places a light in her window for her dad. Soon, candles and paper stars glow throughout the town, each one shining for a person who is missed.
As the storm closes in on Christmas Eve, Ivy watches the road and hopes her father can find his way back.
Home for Christmas Eve is a tender Christmas story about a child's hope, a town brought together by kindness, and the families who keep a light burning for someone they love.
