From the beginning of time, gratitude has been considered part of a healthy daily practice. It's not something new in any way, shape, or form. It's old, very old, yet so many people forget to make gratitude and thanks part of their daily ritual.

The Tao Te Ching (TTC) was written by a Chinese philosopher called Lao-Tzu, who is thought to have lived around 2,500 years ago. Understood to be a great teacher, he went on to create this new philosophy, written in the form of 81 verses known as the Tao Te Ching. These verses give us a new way of looking at the way we live our lives. When reading these verses through the lens of gratitude we can see there is much to be thankful for in this world of haves and have-nots. It's important not to compare ourselves to others but rather see the amazing world in which we live and appreciate this as a community of equals.

The concept of Nothingness comes up time and time again through these verses as state from which we all come and will one day return. We must be thankful for the nothingness as all life comes from this state of divine calmness. Therefore the title "Thanks for Nothing".
