One O'Clock Hustle

A murder. A fugitive. And the one man San Francisco's most by-the-book inspector should never trust.

San Francisco homicide inspector Rebecca Mayfield believes in rules. Richie Amalfi believes rules are meant to be bent.
When Rebecca finds Richie standing over a dead woman with the murder weapon in his hand, the case looks open-and-shut—until Richie insists he's innocent and promptly escapes police custody.

Then he turns up at Rebecca's apartment. Still in handcuffs.

Rebecca should arrest him. Instead, she finds herself chasing a killer through the shadowy streets of San Francisco, following a trail of missing bookies, dangerous gangsters, and secrets that someone is willing to kill to protect.

Richie is everything Rebecca distrusts: charming, elusive, and far too comfortable with the city's criminal underworld. Yet the deeper they dig, the more Rebecca begins to suspect that Richie may be telling the truth—and that the real killer is closing in.

With a murderer determined to silence them and Richie becoming harder to resist, Rebecca faces a choice she never expected to make: trust the man she should be arresting… or risk losing everything.

Because solving this case may cost Rebecca her career. Trusting Richie may cost her heart. And the killer is waiting for their next move.

One O'Clock Hustle is the first Rebecca Mayfield mystery—a fast-paced romantic suspense series where murder, danger, and an irresistible attraction collide on the streets of San Francisco.
