The Last Day of School

For five young girls, the last day of school is supposed to mark the beginning of freedom.

Fresh from graduation at a one-room schoolhouse, Rebecca Wilson and her friends borrow a buckboard, steal a jug of moonshine, and head for a secluded waterhole to celebrate. What begins as an innocent taste of rebellion soon turns into a nightmare.

Rebecca steps away from the others for only a few minutes. When she returns, her friends have been brutally attacked and murdered by men everyone assumes were renegade Indians.

But Rebecca knows something is wrong.

Haunted by what she saw and determined to uncover the truth, she begins asking questions no one in town wants answered. Before long, Rebecca discovers that the killers may not have been Indians at all—but white men hiding behind a convenient lie.

Now she wants more than justice.

She wants vengeance.

And she intends to prove the truth, even if it means confronting men who will kill again to keep their secret buried.
