Rewind Video is one of the last surviving video stores in Briar Glen. During an ordinary closing shift, an unlabeled black VHS tape appears in the returns bin - no owner, no rental record, no business being there. Then a routine employee training tape starts playing.

Moments later, Eli Mercer and his best friend Cal are trapped inside Hollowmarch: a shifting nightmare of impossible roads, abandoned camps, and forgotten towns, stalked by creatures that don't merely hunt their prey - they study them. Joined by Mae, a mysterious young woman who knows more about Hollowmarch than she remembers, they must survive a world governed by impossible rules and find a way home before it changes them into something that belongs there.
