"Rajah Versus Conquistador is meticulously researched, populated by vivid characters, and propelled by suspenseful storytelling. Kahlil Corazo has taken a bold step by engaging in a new, self-reflexive process of literary creation, one that may prove to be generative as we debate the question of authorship in the age of AI."

- Caroline S. Hau

A King's Gambit. A Conqueror's Ambition. A Battle of Swords and Spirits.

Cebu, 1521. At the center of the Visayan seas, Rajah Humabon rules through ritual, trade, and blood. When foreign ships arrive bearing steel, gunpowder, and the cross of an unfamiliar God, he sees not just a threat - but a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

Led by the relentless Ferdinand Magellan, the Castilian fleet promises power and divine favor. But in Sugbo, every alliance is a wager, every ritual a weapon, every oath a potential betrayal. As Humabon gambles for dominion and the feared warrior Lapulapu emerges to challenge both king and invader, what begins as diplomacy becomes sacred deception. What ends in massacre is remembered as myth.

Rajah Versus Conquistador is the story of Cebu told from the inside - science fiction where the science is anthropology, constrained by the historical record but free in its imagination. Told in three voices - a Southeast Asian strongman, a crusading knight unraveling toward revelation, and the hidden women who shape the story's telling - it is a novel about the spiritual technologies behind empire, and the battle of memories that still rages beneath our festivals and flags.
