Ed Hu is an everyday human whose life needs work. He also has far less time than he thinks.

Aisle by aisle, Ed learns to unclog emotional plumbing, rewire what he's connected to, and turn on the lights in rooms he's been avoiding. He also walks into the Swamplands - the long dark stretch every honest remodel eventually hits - and finds something waiting there he wasn't ready for.
