A reluctant assassin is sent beyond the reaches of his masters in the unseelie court. The dark fey queen fancies herself a kingmaker and Aderyn Corff has a new mission: turn the tides of succession in the fomori lands.
Saddled with a companion, Queen Rhagathena's majordomo, Remy Keaton, top assassin of the Rime Throne who is on loan from the Demonsbreak orcs, must infiltrate the southern kingdom of Tech Duinn—home to the enemy fomori. It is not long before Remy realizes his winter sidhe accomplice has a far different mission… one that could spell doom for all other courts.
Remy is oath-bound and required by magic to complete his deadly contract… but compliance and obedience are not synonyms the eyes of arcadeaxn law! Can the Winter Court's token human find a way to secretly work against Rhagathena's ends?
This novella is a prequel in the Curse of the Fey Duelist series, beginning in book 1: A Kiss of Daggers. If you like dark fantasy, paranormal, and urban fantasy with elves, magic, and mystery, then you need this book. For fans of Sarah J. Maas, K.F. Breene, or Rebecca Yarros.
