Notovitch's disputed claim: Tibetan records of Jesus's 'lost years' in the East. The Unknown Life of Jesus Christ is 1894 sensation — pilgrimage, a hidden manuscript, a Jesus among Buddhists. History it is not; as a document of hunger for another gospel, it still travels. Scholars said the monastery had no such book. Believers wanted the missing years filled. Read it as a period craze with a long afterlife in alternative Jesus lore, not as a source. Read in English, unabridged.
