“The next big thing.”

Rolling Stone

One choice can destroy you. Veronica Roth's second #1 New York Times bestseller continues the dystopian thrill ride that began in Divergent.

A hit with both teen and adult readers, Insurgent is the action-packed, emotional adventure that inspired the major motion picture starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, and Octavia Spencer.

As war surges in the factions of dystopian Chicago all around her, Tris attempts to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

And don't miss The Fates Divide, Veronica Roth's powerful sequel to the bestselling Carve the Mark!

    Slow Beginning, Lyrical speach

The best part of Victoria Roth's writing is the way she constructs sentences. I think the way she writes is beautiful. The hardest part for me was the slow moving beat of the first 2/3. Even parts where Tris is imprisoned and hardly surviving are muted. There's a lot of pain, fear and death in this book. The twists kept me interested and wanting more. This is a lot more internally descriptive rather than externally descriptive. Divergent was written while Veronica Roth was in college, I hope that her next books will have the same great internal dialogue, but with more external dialogue. All in all, Tris is a woman of very few words.
