The Communist Manifesto

First published in 1848, The Communist Manifesto remains one of the most influential and debated political texts in modern history. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels present an interpretation of history shaped by class struggle, trace the rise of the bourgeoisie, examine the position of workers under capitalism, and explain the political aims of the communist movement.

Brief, forceful, and uncompromising, the Manifesto can be approached as a foundational statement of communist theory, a document of nineteenth-century European politics, or a text to examine critically alongside later history and competing economic ideas. Whether you support its arguments, oppose them, or simply want to understand their influence, reading the Manifesto directly offers a starting point for engaging with debates about class, labor, ownership, economic power, and social change.

This Modern English Edition presents Marx and Engels's work in clear contemporary language, helping today's listener follow its arguments without relying on dated or difficult phrasing. It aims to preserve the text's central claims and structure while making the reading experience more accessible to a broad modern audience.

Narrated by Luke Meinier Dalofin, this edition offers a direct, approachable listening experience with a work that continues to shape discussions of politics, economics, and society.
