Sherlock Holmes: Hound of the Baskervilles

The Hound of the Baskervilles, published in 1902, is one of Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous Sherlock Holmes novels. When Sir Charles Baskerville dies under mysterious circumstances on the desolate Devonshire moor, with enormous paw prints found near his body, the family physician turns to Holmes for help, citing an ancient legend of a demonic hound that haunts the Baskerville line. Holmes sends Dr. Watson to accompany the new heir, Sir Henry Baskerville, to the ancestral hall while he continues his own inquiries. As strange events unfold on the fog-shrouded moor-including an escaped convict, secretive servants, and a naturalist neighbor-the investigation reveals that the legendary beast is far more real (and human-orchestrated) than it first appears.
