White Tiger Pass

The novel masterfully dives into the inner worlds of its characters, deconstructing the complexities of human experience, such as youthful love, memory, regret, waiting, rebellion, fear, despair, self-redemption, and heartfelt conversations. All of these elements together paint a vivid picture of the plight of women in the rural regions of China amid social change in the 1990s, showcasing their resilient spirit and unwillingness to succumb to destiny.
