The Accidental Road Trip
Beatrice Huntington Smith does not plan to begin her new life by hiding in the wrong car. She only means to escape a suffocating wedding, a dull future, and a villa full of gardenias and expectations. Instead, she ends up in the back of a stolen Hispano Suiza driven by Julian, a broke jazz pianist racing toward an audition in Nice. What should have been a quick escape turns into a wild journey through the French Riviera, mountain roads, police checkpoints, a foul tempered goat, village mechanics, smoky jazz clubs, and men sent to drag Beatrice back to the life she refused. Julian wants one chance to prove himself at the Negresco. Beatrice wants a future that is not already written for her. Together, they discover that freedom can arrive dusty, hungry, badly dressed, and completely unplanned. The Accidental Road Trip is a sparkling Jazz Age romance about escape, music, scandal, and two runaways learning to choose the road ahead.
