Recollections of the Miners' Strike

The names of famous battles echo down the ages. Orgreave is one such. In this edition of Recollections of the Miners' Strike, author and ex National Union of Mineworkers education officer Hilary Cave warns, that more and more people are finding that their democratic right to organise, to march and even to speak out is being limited by increasingly autocratic governments. Orgreave was a turning point in this process. That is why these recollections of the miners' strike still hold lessons for us and for generations to come.
