In the bubble-city of Machia, a mandatory pill has eliminated the need for rest. Citizens gain time; they lose their dreams. Arthur is a drimer - his brain still dreams, and he records those visions to sell on the black market beyond the city walls.

But his dreams are changing. People are dying inside them. And the images they contain - of a world that vanished long before Arthur was born - shouldn't exist.

Caught between a tyrant who raised him, a lover with a dangerous secret, and a revolution he may have started, Arthur must decide what to believe - and what to destroy. The answer will unravel not just a city, but reality itself.
