    Storytelling the old way

    For fans of the old and proven way to tell a western story, Axle But Creek is sure to satisfy. Shirley never runs of out of characters. From surroundings like gold mines, saloons, stagecoaches, robberies, hangings et al, you’ll find that Shirley has a firm handle on it all. He’s refreshing to read, reminding us of not only the old days in the west but how, comparatively speaking, things were simpler. Aspirations were modest in most cases. His characters are drawn from thorough research and heart. Surprisingly fun listen.
